1. Go to the Library Catalog or 'Find Books'.

2. Search by Subject if you have a broad topic or know a specific Library of Congress subject heading.

  • Examples:
  • global warming
  • Mandela, Nelson
  • California politics and government

3. Search by Keyword, if you have a more specific topic or wish to combine concepts.

  • Examples:
  • emergent readers
  • personal computing and periodicals
  • immigra* and women and United States
