Q. How do I use subject headings to find primary sources in catalogs?

1. Go to any library catalog, including the Pollak Library Catalog, Find Books, or WorldCat.

2. Search by Keyword. Enter your subject term and one of the primary source terms listed below:

sources  (Try this term first, followed by other searches for your topic using relevant terms below.)
correspondence
diaries
early works to 1800
interviews
pamphlets
personal narratives
pictorial works
speeches

Your search may look something like these examples:
Cleopatra and sources
peloponnesian war and sources
women pioneers and diaries
soviet union and dissidents and interviews
holocaust and personal narratives
Thomas Jefferson and correspondence
